Paw Patrol Birthday Party for 4th Birthday

My kid loves Paw Patrol. This is why he wanted to celebrate his birthday with his favourite pups from Paw Patrol cartoon. He turned into 4 in last October (in 2017) which I had to plan his birthday party with his favourite cartoon characters.As always,here is our story behind the Paw Patrol Birthday party celebration for the kid’s 4th birthday.

We didn’t invite guests to our home. Instead of that, we celebrated his birthday with his preschool friends. At the time of planning our Paw Patrol birthday party for 4 year old kid, I had difficulty in finding some party supplies easily. This is why I had to be little creative to keep everything within our theme.

Paw Patrol Birthday Cake

I ordered the cake from a bakery shop in my neighbourhood. This birthday cake was supposed to share with preschool kids and teachers. So, I ordered a cake with soft butter icing which will keep its taste instead of decorating it with many colours. Same time, I ordered a set of Paw Patrol cake figurines to decorate the cake. (Non-edible Paw Patrol figurines/toys)

Cake shop owner has already decorated the birthday cake with some toys, so I used Paw patrol toys around the cake just to symbolize our theme. Anyway, kids loved the cake and its taste. Teachers loved too as it was less sweet.

Paw Patrol Birthday Cake for the Home – A piece of cake decorated

Though we planned celebrating our Paw patrol birthday at preschool, I just planned family celebration on the day of kid’s birthday. He was so happy to see this small cake with his Paw Patrol characters. I just decorated a piece of cake to keep him entertained and excited before go to the preschool.

Paw Patrol Birthday Party Hats

I couldn’t find the exact Paw patrol themed party hats. So, I was creative in decorating the party hats with Paw patrol characters. I always use the same trick with themed stickers. This time also, I use Paw Patrol stickers to decorate the party hats. You can check similar tutorial here on how to DIY party hats.

Paw Patrol Goodie Bags

I was lucky to find these Paw Patrol themed goody bags/loot bags from a shopping mall. From the same place I could buy Paw Patrol themed toys and supplies for the goody bags. That was the fun part of planning the Paw Patrol birthday party. I also ordered some Paw Patrol stickers to add inside the goody bag which kids love to find in a birthday goody bag.

Paw Patrol Birthday celebration at the Preschool

Kid was little bit shy and excited at the preschool, so he kept his eyes closed during the celebration. Teacher said this can be due to his first birthday celebration in the new preschool. 🙂

His friends wished him with Happy Birthday song and kids were excited. When our kid was late to blow the candles, his friends helped him to blow! That was a celebration with fun, joy and excitement among little kids.

DIY Cake Bunting Topper for Birthdays

I made this DIY cake bunting topper for my son’s first birthday party.Though we ordered a cake for his first birthday,I also baked and decorated a simple cake as a smash cake.To make it more beautiful I made this cake bunting topper and it was super easy.

Here is how I made this DIY cake bunting topper.It’s really easy.

Supplies:

Cardstock of your choice of color
-Letter Stickers to say ‘Happy Birthday’ or printed letters (I used letters stickers)
-A beautiful Ribbon
– Glue
-2 Straws or wooden skewers

How to do:

Sketch out a flag bunting shape in a card. This will be used as a template.
Once the flag is sketched out, cut the template.

Using this template cut flags for the cake bunting using the cards stock. Cut 13 flags to say ‘Happy Birthday’. If you want to add the name of the baby, cut few more flags.
Now glue the letter s and stick those to each flag. Or use letter stickers.
Cut 2 pieces of ribbon. Make sure to cut it longer than required, so you have some length to tie etc.
Using a small dot of glue on the back top of each flag, stick all flags to the ribbon.
Because the cake is small and space is limited, make 2 strings of the banner. One for the word ‘Happy’ and the other for ‘Birthday’.
Now banner is ready.

Attach the banners using glue to the top end of straws or wooden skewers.
Now it is ready.
Insert this Cake topper to your Birthday cake.
A simple,beautiful and a customized cake is ready! 🙂

Pororo Themed Birthday Party for 3rd Birthday

We threw a Pororo themed Birthday Party for our kid when he turned three! This is a long due post and as always I am late with some posts. Now my son is going to be 4 years old in next October. So, before he reaches 4 years old, I am rushing to share some posts related to his Pororo Birthday Party!

Why Pororo theme?

Pororo is a cute little penguin who is the main character of Pororo and the friends cartoon series. Well, I am a mom who allows my kid to spend time with apps and tv shows under my control with limits. Other than Peppa cartoon series, I allow him to watch Pororo and the friend too as this series is suitable for his age as I think.

Now, I am talking about last year which my kid was below 3 years of age. He loved Pororo and still he loves. He also loves to watch Pororo educational series which teaches about patterns, counting and other educational topics.

As I love to select a theme for his birthdays, last year I selected ‘Pororo’ as our 3^rd Birthday party theme.

Well, we didn’t have guests for our home. Instead we celebrated his Pororo Birthday Party at his Playgroup with his teachers and friends. It was a lovely and memorable moment.

Here are some of the highlights from our 3^rd Birthday celebrations with Pororo themed birthday decorations and supplies.

Design for Pororo Birthday Cake

Before everything I wanted to plan his Pororo themed birthday cake. When I checked online, I could find beautiful Pororo cake design ideas. However as we celebrated the birthday at his playgroup, I had to check with the teacher. Instead of cutting a birthday cake and serve the kids, teacher was happy to have cupcakes. I loved that idea too as cupcakes are easy to serve to the kids.

However, I couldn’t find a place to buy cupcakes easily. There are cupcake shops around my neighborhood, but they have some limitations. Finally I found thecakeshop.com.sg . They were really helpful and I could place my order online. We ordered Pororo themed cupcakes.

How I made this Pororo Birthday Cake?

It is really simple. I bought a plain yet simply decorated cake from nearby bakery shop. The cake came with a ‘Happy Birthday’ topper. To the same cake, I created a cake topper using a sticker with Pororo and friends. I pasted that sticker on a toothpick creating a beautiful and easy cake topper. 🙂 Finally, here is our very own Pororo Birthday Cake!

Party hats

I couldn’t find Pororo themed party hats. Instead I bought a pack of DIY party hats. Using Pororo and friends stickers, I personalized those party hats to match the party theme.

Kid was so happy because his father visited his playgroup.This is once a year happening as I am the one behind the kid’s school events always.Kid had a big story to share with his dad after the playgroup. 🙂

After the playgroup,we celebrated his birthday at home blowing candles and cutting this really simple cake.

We had a great day with the kid.To make him happy,I also visited the Pororo Park with him.So he was full of activities with Pororo and the friends.It was a birthday party which created memories for him with his favourite cartoon character!

Train Birthday Party for Our Son’s 2nd Birthday

Few months ago our son celebrated his 2^nd birthday. Actually he celebrated his 2^nd birthday on last year October and still I couldn’t post any details of it. My blog is called ‘Diary of a New Mom’, but my diary is always outdated. 🙂 Anyway, late is better than never. So, this post will still have some value when he is grown up.

He celebrated his 2^nd birthday in October last year. It was really busy and stressful period at our home. My mother arrived here from Sri Lanka and helped me on weaning. We started weaning him from breastfeeding, but my son was not happy. 🙁 He tried his best to get his favourite ‘breast milk’.

Okay,if you are curious,then here is how I wean my kid from breastfeeding.

Although his actual birthday was on October, we had to celebrate it few days before as we had plans to visit Sri Lanka for a holiday. I wanted to have a small celebration as I was not sure on how our days would be in Sri Lanka. Visiting Sri Lanka is always enjoyable as we can stay with family members. But, on the other way it is really tiresome. We travel from one place to another. No proper stay at any home. So, I planned to have a birthday celebration in Singapore before we leave as I can’t predict how it would be in Sri Lanka.

This time our birthday theme was train birthday. My son loves Bob the Train songs YouTube channel (Kids TV), so we could easily select the theme.

I love DIY birthday parties. So, most of the banners were done by me and I always involved my son with me when I was doing those crafts.One of the best ways to teach arts and crafts for toddlers! 🙂

I have a plan of making a photo album for our son using his 5 years photos,so I capture a photo each month and I guess birthday is a good reason to print all the monthly photos.

Below is a simple birthday cake done by me.Actually I bought few decorated pieces of cakes from a nearby bakery shop and made this train birthday cake.A toy train engine completed the look of the birthday cake.

Actually this was just a family celebration which we didn’t have any guests.So,we didn’t want a big Birthday cake.

Anyway,I still bought another small cake for the sake of cutting as I wanted to keep the Train Birthday cake few more minutes just to admire its beauty. 🙂

My mother was the only guest for this Train Birthday party!

Lunch was served for the train birthday party and we arranged it as a train using colourful containers.This colourful train toy helped a lot to create our lunch train.

He looks bit tired as few days before the celebration,he fell down on the floor and ended up with four stitches on his chin. 🙁 In these photos,he is still with his stitches.

Anyway,our train birthday party is not yet over.We visited Sri Lanka at the end of September and we were there on his actual date of birth.(His birthday falls on the first week of October) My mother arranged a Birthday party at home inviting few kids in our neighborhood.It was a great opportunity for our son to play and mingle with some kids in Sri Lanka.My mother,as she left Singapore just before few days of our flight took some of the banners from the party saying she doesn’t have enough time to shop for birthday party supplies.On the other way,we could use most of the birthday supplies twice!

So here are some moments from the Train Birthday Party we had in Sri Lanka.Sadly,photos are not so clear and most of the photos with the kids are shaky.I could pick few photos anyhow.

Planning a kids Birthday Party is really exciting. We as parents wants to organize the best ever birthday party for the kids. So far I’ve organized my sons first birthday and 2nd birthday party and I had great time planning the parties with my little kid.

Now he understands more than he was in his first and second birthday parties. Even he asks me to arrange his 3rd Birthday party with his favorite characters like Mickey Mouse, Spider man and so on.
