Sandcastles at East Coast Park-Singapore

East Coast Park which is a popular park destination in Singapore is with lot of family friendly activities. This park stretches over a beautiful beach making it a great place for family fun. Recently We spent a whole day there and enjoyed lot of activities. Among the activities, spending time in the beach was really fun and enjoyable.

We also spent time with sand playing with our toddler. Although we didn’t join in building such huge sandcastles, this is another activity which anyone can enjoy at the Singapore East Coast Park. There is one dedicated area which you can rent moulds for sandcastle building. Many families and groups were working together as teams to create such beautiful sandcastles. We could see those and my son too loved those.

You can get step by step instructions, sandcastle moulds or other accessories such as flags to decorate your castles from there. There is a small fee applied. But, I think this is a fun way to spend a day as a team or as whole family engaging in such challenging activity.

Singa the Courtesy Lion at Dhoby Ghaut

Singa the Courtesy Lion is a popular mascot used in Singapore kindness campaigns. Also called as Singa the Lion, the mascot is widely used in badges, stickers, banners and in many other forms in kindness movements.

Singa the Courtesy Lion at Dhoby Ghaut

Although he is a popular mascot in many events, Singa the lion resigned officially from his duties on 2013.But still I can see the Singa Lion in publications and in different places. We received a Singa Lion toy in last year SG50 celebrations too.

Our son loves his Singa Lion which he received from the last year SG50 celebrations. He has much attachment for lion toys and he take his toy lions wherever he go. Sometimes we keep our eye on the toy, because if he forgets it, we know we have to run here and there to locate the lion as lion is his best friend.

Last week we were lucky to locate Singa Lion in Dhoby Ghaut as a beautiful statue. My son was so happy and he could spend few hours there while talking and touching the lion.

A kind heart is a fountain of gladness –This quote teaches us a valuable lesson for the life. Thanks Singa Lion!

While locating the Singa lion at Dhoby Ghaut, you can also spend time in the beautiful area around while sitting on a swing.

Kiddie Rides with Sesame Street Characters

Kiddie rides are so much fun and my son loves to play with such when we are in any shopping mall. Whenever we are at a shopping mall I spend time with him around kiddie rides and he enjoys walking around, riding and talking with the characters.

When we visited AMK Hub last week to see the Balloon Candyland, we spent the day there in the shopping mall. So, my son had the chance to play with kiddie rides at AMK Hub kids play area leisurely till he gets bored. Although these kiddie rides are at a side of level 3,it is like a small indoor playground for kids which they can spend time with their favourite charactors. This time, as he is nearly 3 years old, he knows names of most of the characters in these kiddie rides. He was so happy to meet the friends in Sesame Street and talk and sit with them. These kiddie rides with Sesame Street characters are bright coloured, beautiful and cheerful!A really fun for kids!

Marabou Stork – Is this One of the Ugliest Animals on the Planet?

This is a Marabou Stork, a bird we found at the Animal Resort Singapore.

With featherless head and with his lazy look it was walking here and there in his cage. It looks strange and it looks unhappy too. (for me)

Once mnn.com mentioned this bird as one of the ugliest animals on the planet. Is this true?

I think it looks strange than ugly. 🙂

First Kiddy Ride at Johor Bahru

Kiddy Ride

We had our first kiddy ride! Yes, it is something to share here because so far our son didn’t show interest in riding on those beautiful cars and other such play equipment. He was afraid of riding, instead he loves playing with those just sitting and walking around.

But, in our recent getaway to Johor Bahru, Malaysia, we asked him to ride a car. He loved to experience but with me in a side. And do you know, this was my first kiddy ride too. 🙂

Kiddy Ride

Nothing to worry, in my childhood days we spent time in the parks and there were play equipment such as swings and seesaw. We enjoyed Merry go round trips in special places or carnivals. So, this is my first kiddy ride too.

Anyway we had great time by inserting coins, riding the car with the music, pressing the buttons and by looking at the colourful lights!

Kids Friendly Excursions in Marmaris

Beautiful sandy beaches and great weather are the most interesting things that come into my mind when I think of Marmaris which is a beautiful Mediterranean port town in Turkey. Having another holiday in an attractive port city sounds really interesting. However, a holiday with a kid should be well planned. With my recent trips to few different places I experienced lot of hard moments and really exciting moments of travelling with kids.So I want to share some of the activities you can do in a family friendly holiday to Marmaris with kids. When you plan your holiday with kids friendly activities, they will enjoy their holiday, and you will too. 🙂

Kids Friendly Excursions in Marmaris

Spending time in the beach is great while you can have great fun with the kids. Recently we visited the beach and of course it was really enjoyable. There are lot of activities which you can do in the beach with kids including playing with sea waves, sand playing and kite surfing with kids. My toddler loved all these activities and I know these are worth activities to do in Marmaris beaches too.

Kids love their time in the beach

Although you can spend the whole day in a Marmaris beach with such activities, a holiday is not really complete if you don’t enjoy special activities. I mean activities really special for Marmaris and which you can’t easily experience elsewhere.

Kids love to spend time with animals too.A horse Safari in Marmaris is great to entertain them.

So, don’t ruin your time just spending at the beach with kids. Let them explore Marmaris by joining either a Marmaris Pirates Boat Trip or a horse safari.

Pirates’ boat trip is enjoyable for both adults and kids, so you will not regret booking a tour for your family. Enjoy time in the boat tour while enjoying games and fantastic views along the way.

A Day in Aqua Dream Water Park can be another great way to spend time in Marmaris which in return your kids would talk about their experience for many years. I am sure they’ll love this activity.

How to plan your Marmaris Holiday?

Sometimes it is not easy to arrange holidays on your own. This is where Marmaris excursions are helpful. With lot of available excursions in Marmaris, it is not difficult to plan your holiday arrangement in Marmaris. Only you have to do is visit a tour operating site such as www.excursionsmarmaris.net and book your favorite Marmaris excursions. It is stress free and they will do the best arrangement for your holiday.

Other than that, always don’t forget sunscreen, water and a camera with extra batteries. These will make your moments in Marmaris more enjoyable!

At the Singapore East Coast Park with a Toddler

We’ve visited East Coast Park some years ago, but it was in my ‘to visit’ list of Singapore for a long time. It was a long weekend with May 1st holiday and we decided to visit the East Coast Park. This visit is bit special because, this is the Sanu’s first visit to a beach.

He is so active now and therefore we thought it would be good for him to enjoy his time freely in a spacious beach like the East Coast Park beach.

East Coast Park is a beautiful park in Singapore with lot of family friendly activities including Cycling, swimming,BBQ,camping and sand playing.Kids friendly activities are not limited to these few mentioned items. It is so spacious,so kids can play happily.

Animal Resort Singapore (Farm Visit in a Weekend)

Not sure where to go in the weekend? With lot of kids friendly activities and places it is really difficult to decide where to go in Singapore with kids for a short break. It is same with us sometimes, but I planned a tour to Animal Resort Singapore from long time and final we visited!

For a toddler what else can make fun than animal sounds and animals! Our toddler is same and he loves farm animals and when he just started talking, he always muttered  ‘Old McDonald has a farm EiEiO…He has lot of farm animal toys and farm animal books, but he still loves watching farm animals live!

Animal Resort Singapore

Animal Resort in Singapore is a really fun and interesting concept to bring the kids and there are number of farm animals live there. They live freely and suddenly you will shock with kampong style when geese are waddling and ducks say Quack Quack roaming around you!

Here are some of the moments from our animal farm visit.

After feeding the horse,we started watching other farm animals. This cassowary stays next to the horse,so we cannot miss greeting him!

Animal Resort Singapore

See,he smiles!

Animal Resort-Singapore

Next is a small hut with rabbits. The time we visited this hut ,it was bit crowded, but we could watch rabbits.

Although other animals look lovely and stay freely,I feel these rabbits don’t like or do not enjoy their stay in these cages. With lot of people and with small space,it seems the rabbits are bit stressed! 🙁

Animal Resort-Singapore

Just after the rabbit house,it was a pond with fish.

What we saw next is really interesting! The peacock who opened his feathers!

The peacock in this cage fanned out his feathers and it was a beautiful scene for us to enjoy.
