Preschool Field Trip to the Singapore Zoo

Kids easily learn through activities and observation. This is why field trips and outdoor explorations are important specially for early learners. At home we always encourage our kid to experience active learning as we know the benefits of such.My kid was lucky to join with his Preschool Field trip to the Singapore Zoo and it was a fantastic opportunity for him as an early learner!

My little explorer is learning to read the map!

Last week we had a fun day at the Singapore zoo. That was my kid’s first ever school field trip. His preschool teachers organized a field trip to the Singapore zoo. This is why we like the new preschool. Now our kid’s preschool days are full of different activities and experiences which also improves his social skills.

My kid has visited the Singapore zoo 3 times during the last year as family trips. However a preschool field trip is a great way to spend his day with teachers and friends. So we decided to join our kid to visit the zoo again. And of course, I visited the zoo again for the 5th or 6th time! 🙂

However, Singapore zoo is always an exciting place to visit. It looks natural and attractive. With preschool kids, I really had a great time.

For my kid, it was an exciting day. He packed his bag with field trip essentials including snacks, hat and raincoat before he went to the bed. On the day of the field trip, he woke up early and was really excited. The bus ride with his preschool friends was an unforgettable experience for him. 🙂

Other than watching the animals around the zoo, teachers planned to watch some animal shows during the field trip. It was exciting for the kids. But after the first animal show, my kid showed signs of tiredness. Light snacks were always helpful for me to keep him active. 🙂

A tram ride around the zoo was exciting. He could watch his most favourite animal, the Lion!He also loved to see elephants!

Other than watching animals and their behavior, kids also learned to share and to spend the time together. At the end of the day, kids looked tired but still talkative and playful!

My Little Giant – Singapore Indoor Playpark with Kids Entertainment Centre

Did you hear it right? There is a new indoor playground in Singapore! My Little Giant is the newly opened indoor playground for kids which has some unique features. It is not just another indoor playground in Singapore which has typical play equipment. Instead, My Little Giant includes a kids Entertainment area as well. This side of gaming area will give you a carnival feel while playing games or experiencing rides on different play equipment including a train ride.

Doesn’t this sound interesting? Sometimes, indoor playgrounds can be boring for parents. I’ve seen most parents spend their time on mobile phones while kids are playing. But, the gaming area of My Little Giant is really an exciting area for both adults and kids to have fun together! And it is located in the popular shopping mall, Big Box which is easy to reach!

Early this month we spent an afternoon at the Pororo Park and had a great fun. After that, My Little Giant is entirely different experience which includes carnival experience while spending time at the indoor playpark. We spent an afternoon there and had really exciting time in both gaming area and inside the playground.

Here are some of the moments from our experience.

Kids Entertainment Centre  (Gaming and Entertainment area of My Little Giant)

This area will sure give you the feeling of carnival. Among the train rides, carousel and other kiddy rides, who can forget the carnival experience! My kid really loved the train ride. Not only him, I enjoyed the train ride too.

Indoor play area of My Little Giant

Before you enter into the indoor playground area, you need to remove shoes. The facilities are there to keep the shoes.

At the entrance, the staff will do the usual procedure for any indoor playground such as measuring temperature and sanitizing the hands. They also gave us a tag to wear on hand which allow us re-entry within the day! Isn’t this a good idea?

Ball pit is really interesting and I really love the colour combination of balls. Blue and white balls give eye pleasing look and we had so much fun there.

Sandcastles at East Coast Park-Singapore

East Coast Park which is a popular park destination in Singapore is with lot of family friendly activities. This park stretches over a beautiful beach making it a great place for family fun. Recently We spent a whole day there and enjoyed lot of activities. Among the activities, spending time in the beach was really fun and enjoyable.

We also spent time with sand playing with our toddler. Although we didn’t join in building such huge sandcastles, this is another activity which anyone can enjoy at the Singapore East Coast Park. There is one dedicated area which you can rent moulds for sandcastle building. Many families and groups were working together as teams to create such beautiful sandcastles. We could see those and my son too loved those.

Singa the Courtesy Lion at Dhoby Ghaut

Singa the Courtesy Lion is a popular mascot used in Singapore kindness campaigns. Also called as Singa the Lion, the mascot is widely used in badges, stickers, banners and in many other forms in kindness movements.

Singa the Courtesy Lion at Dhoby Ghaut

Although he is a popular mascot in many events, Singa the lion resigned officially from his duties on 2013.But still I can see the Singa Lion in publications and in different places. We received a Singa Lion toy in last year SG50 celebrations too.

Our son loves his Singa Lion which he received from the last year SG50 celebrations. He has much attachment for lion toys and he take his toy lions wherever he go. Sometimes we keep our eye on the toy, because if he forgets it, we know we have to run here and there to locate the lion as lion is his best friend.

Last week we were lucky to locate Singa Lion in Dhoby Ghaut as a beautiful statue. My son was so happy and he could spend few hours there while talking and touching the lion.

A kind heart is a fountain of gladness –This quote teaches us a valuable lesson for the life. Thanks Singa Lion!

While locating the Singa lion at Dhoby Ghaut, you can also spend time in the beautiful area around while sitting on a swing.

Although these kiddie rides are at a side of level 3,it is like a small indoor playground for kids which they can spend time with their favourite charactors. This time, as he is nearly 3 years old, he knows names of most of the characters in these kiddie rides. He was so happy to meet the friends in Sesame Street and talk and sit with them. These kiddie rides with Sesame Street characters are bright coloured, beautiful and cheerful!A really fun for kids!

At the Singapore East Coast Park with a Toddler

We’ve visited East Coast Park some years ago, but it was in my ‘to visit’ list of Singapore for a long time. It was a long weekend with May 1st holiday and we decided to visit the East Coast Park. This visit is bit special because, this is the Sanu’s first visit to a beach.

He is so active now and therefore we thought it would be good for him to enjoy his time freely in a spacious beach like the East Coast Park beach.

East Coast Park is a beautiful park in Singapore with lot of family friendly activities including Cycling, swimming,BBQ,camping and sand playing.Kids friendly activities are not limited to these few mentioned items. It is so spacious,so kids can play happily.
