As usual my kid went to school with his costume that represents Sri Lanka. Although it is exactly not the national dress of Sri Lanka, this Batik Sarong and shirt represents traditional costumes of the country. Therefore I chose it for my kid to wear for the Racial Harmony Day.

All the kids came to the school with their own traditional dresses. Other than the kids, parents too joined with traditional costumes representing their origin country or ethnic group.

Kompang

After the Indian dance events kids got the opportunity to learn about Malay music instruments such as ‘KOMPANG’.Kompang reminds me the ‘Sri Lankan Rabana’ or ‘Ath Rabana’ which is almost similar to this instrument. The best part was that kids got the chance to play Kompang!

Talk about racial harmony day
