Early READ Fiesta @ Woodlands Regional Library

The school holidays are in full swing, and as a mom, I’m always on the lookout for engaging and educational activities to keep my son entertained. Last weekend, we stumbled upon an event that not only captivated my son’s attention but also ignited his love for reading—the Early READ Fiesta at Woodlands Regional Library.

Free Fun for the Whole Family:

The best part about the Early READ Fiesta was that it was a free event hosted at the Woodlands Regional Library. With the school holiday in full swing, it was the perfect opportunity for me to take my son out for an exciting day filled with activities and creativity.

Crafty Adventures:

The highlight of the event was undoubtedly the array of craft activities that had the children buzzing with excitement. From creating adorable Caterpillar headgear to embarking on an Under the Sea adventure craft and spinning a web of fun with the Incy Wincy Spider Craft, there was no shortage of imaginative projects to keep little hands busy.

Eco-Friendly Fun: Mini Junkyard Fun

In addition to the crafts, the event also featured a unique recycling sorting activity named “My Junkyard Fun.” It was heartening to see the children not only having a blast but also learning about the importance of recycling in a hands-on and entertaining way.

Reading Incentives:

As if the craft activities weren’t enticing enough, there was an additional incentive for the little bookworms. After completing the various activities, each child was encouraged to borrow a minimum of 8 books from the library—a fantastic way to promote the joy of reading.

Sweet Rewards:

To sweeten the deal, once all the activities were completed and the books were borrowed, the children were able to redeem a squishy along with some activity books. This not only added an extra layer of excitement but also served as a delightful reward for their participation and engagement throughout the day.

Encouraging a Love for Reading:

The main theme of the Early READ Fiesta was clear—to instill a love for reading in young minds. By combining the crafts with the pleasure of taking home new books, the event successfully encouraged children to explore the magical world of literature.

The Early READ Fiesta at Woodlands Regional Library turned out to be a delightful surprise for my son and me. It was a day filled with laughter, creativity, and, most importantly, a renewed enthusiasm for reading. Events like these not only provide a break from the routine but also play a crucial role in shaping a child’s love for learning. As the school holidays continue, I’m on the lookout for more hidden gems that can turn ordinary days into extraordinary memories for my family.

After the event, we had lunch together. A quick lunch of Korean BBQ Chicken with rice added a savory touch.

However, my son also had to attend swimming lessons. We didn’t have much time left. Instead of a drink, we had plain water. So, this plain water bottle with our meal is my ticket to enter T Tuesday event today.
