In today’s post, I thought of sharing our stamps album. As a child, one of my hobbies was collecting stamps. I had a good collection of stamps from various countries. But, I didn’t have a proper album. I even lost those due to no attention lately due to studies, marriage, and leaving my home country. Though my stamp collection was just a childhood memory for me, I suddenly started collecting stamps again. That was when I was pregnant with my son. I don’t know why, suddenly this hobby came to my mind. Then it was again a silent hobby for me. Recently I introduced this to my son too though the Stamp album is still in my possession. 🙂
Well, that’s about how I have a stamp album. Also, read this post I wrote on how to start stamp collecting for kids. It is a guide for beginners.
A few days ago we went out and we also went to a bookshop to buy stationery. While browsing, I found some stamps too. Those are thematic stamps and I found scouts-themed stamps. My son is a cub scout. So, I showed it to him thinking he would love it for the album.
Yes, he loved Scout stamps. But, he found football-themed stamps too and struggled to choose one. Finally, we bought scouts-themed stamps.
Coming back, he was busy with arranging stamps inside the album. The good thing is that we searched and read about each stamp. It was a good bonding time too while learning new things.
While arranging stamps, I thought sharing a few photos of our collection as a blog post is a good idea! 🙂
And, now son has his own space for studies with our new findings from IKEA visit. Below is a clear photo of his study desk and book shelf.
Finally, scouts stamps are arranged in our stamps album! I found stamp collecting is a great way to spend time together as a collaborative hobby.
Do you collect stamps? Please share your experiences with collecting stamps as a hobby.I’d love to read your comments! 🙂
Pastamania
Yesterday, we had dinner at Pastamania. I loved their vintage-looking drinking cup design and captured a photo for this week’s T Tuesday. I had a soft drink in this cup 🙂

Amila, what a fun post. I collected stamps as a child and loved it. I have no idea what happened to my collection. I love that kids can still do this and that you can do it with your son. He is so cute!
Great looking cup too.
Happy T-day and hugz
Love all those stamps, I remember collecting stamps although I don’t remember either of my sons collecting them, our GS is collecting Pokemon cards and has an album full!
Happy T Day Jan S
You have a great stamp collection, very interesting. I’m sure your son was a bit sad that he couldn’t buy the football stamps! Have a great T Day, Take care, hugs, Valerie
What a fantastic collection of stamps. I used to collect stamps when I was a child too but lost them all in a house move. x
I used to collect stamps as a child also, and I still have mine. Many I now use in my art. I think it’s wonderful your son is now collecting stamps. It’s a great way to see things about the world, isn’t it? I like how you found those packages of stamps too. Sometimes when I travel, if I can find packages like that I buy them to use in a travel journal. I guess it is because stamps are almost like mini-postcards too. I really enjoyed this post Amila. Happy T day and Happy September to you. hugs-Erika
What a wonderful hobby for you and your son. I have a lot of stamps and many that people send me. However, I use mine in my art. I am delighted you two have that collection in common.
What a fun looking vintage cup from Pastamania. Thanks for sharing your stamps and your soft drink with us for T this Tuesday, dear Amila.
Ohhh this is a fun past time for sure. How lovely to have all those stamps and placed in a book. Have a very nice day today.
I found stamp collecting intimidating as a child. So _many_ stamps! I’m glad he’s enjoying himself 🙂
Stamp collecting is such a wonderful past-time. I love seeing them all laid out in the clear pages. Looks like a great activity that you and your son can enjoy together.
Love those pretty cups!
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
Ah, stamps, affordable bits of art. Such a nice hobby to share with your son. I don’t collect stamps per se, but I do have quite a collection of stamps to use for mail art. Happy T Day
