Our experience with First Principles Education began with the Parent Success Team assisting us in scheduling our Diamond Discovery Diagnostics test. During this assessment, my child answered questions about study habits like reading and note-taking, with my guidance. There were even some questions that checked his memory skills, time management habits, and exam skills.
All these questions are designed to understand the study habits of a child. I found that the questions are also easy to understand by a primary school child, making it easier for them to find suitable replies. My child appreciated the chance to honestly share his thoughts. The Results
Shortly after completing the test, we received a detailed report via email within two hours. This was a Preliminary Report to better understand the child’s biggest areas for improvement. The next step is to book a consultation slot. This prompt feedback was crucial in pinpointing my child’s strengths and areas needing improvement in his study habits.
I was surprised when I received the consultation report. It shared the actions to be taken to improve the different skills necessary for academic progress. The consultation was filled with professional suggestions that I couldn’t even find over many years of reading books or websites. It was an eye-opener for me, revealing how I can help my child improve his skills for academic progress. Further, I found the mistakes we made so far or the things we ignored, but that really matter for a child’s progress. My child also found these ideas helpful and is eager to improve his note-taking, studying, and exam preparation methods. The report covers a lot of independent learning strategies for kids that are really impactful for their academic future.
