Why You Should Get A Pet If You Have Children

Introduction

Did you know there are currently more than 300 million dogs and cats being raised in households around the world? People choose to have pets for many benefits they offer. In this post, we will elaborate on the compelling reasons why you should get a pet if you have children.

Pets Encourage Learning

This is the sight that everyone, especially parents, loves to see when it comes to children and animals: A child curling up in the bed surrounded by warm blankets, pillows and cute pets, excitedly reading a book to the four-legged friends.

Scientists have discovered the magical effects that therapy animals can bring to children whose mental development is slow. Letting those children play with therapy dogs, especially six safest dogs for children, is one of the most successful ways to guide their mental development on the right path.

But now, scientists are seeing clear evidence that animals not only help struggling children. They also make a good source of influence to normal children of any ages. Studies show that kids feel much less stressed out when they are asked to read for animals than for their peers or adults.

For kids who are just starting to read and being aware of their shortcomings, it is best to let them read to animals. We should not intimidate them by pressuring them to read to people. Doing that will only scare them away from reading. So, in a word, pets can encourage children to learn and practice something new in a way that no humans, even parents, can.

Pets Bring Comfort

Studies have also found that a lot of children believe one of the best ways to socialize is to have a pet. Young pet owners, examining their own experience, think that any kinds of pets (dogs, cats, birds, hamsters, horses, etc.) can give shy kids more comfort in making new friends and blending with their environment. The reason is simply because pets make a great conversation topic among kids. Children who keep themselves to themselves can find a common ground or a shared interest with strangers by discussing pets.

Another way in which pets provide a great source of comfort for children is listening to them. Children do have big secrets they wish to share with someone for sympathy or releasing pressure. Many kids do not share with close people around them because people are not good at listening without being judgmental. Whereas animals just listen and seem to know how to comfort children during their secret conversation with each other.

Pets Teach Children Care

We all know caring for each other is an important skill and aspect in life. Many people think the ability to nurture other beings comes naturally and instinctively to all humans. But if a child is not taught about love and care, it is not going to deliver those things well later in life.

Another common misperception is that a child can learn how to care through the way it is looked after by adults. While it is true that love from others can give a child an idea of what affection is, the child still needs to practice care itself to really believe in the importance of love.

Pets give children a great chance to learn about caring for other beings. Most young pet owners develop a sense of responsibility and acquire important caring skills that will come in handy in later life.

because i Love You....

Conclusion

So, pets do not only make great learning buddies to children, but they are also helpful companions and inspiring teachers of care. Those are great reasons why you should get a pet if you have children. No wonder why many modern parents create a pet environment for their children at an early age.

Marabou Stork – Is this One of the Ugliest Animals on the Planet?

This is a Marabou Stork, a bird we found at the Animal Resort Singapore.

With featherless head and with his lazy look it was walking here and there in his cage. It looks strange and it looks unhappy too. (for me)

Rabbits in a Cage and Roosters-Sri Lanka Road Trip

It is another Wordless Wednesday! In this blog, this is my Wordless Wednesday post #3.However,this week post is wordfull!

Recently we visited Sri Lanka and we enjoyed few road trips. These captures are from one of such road trips which we visited Polonnaruwa,a one of the must visit location in Sri Lanka.

Our route was through a popular wildlife park which is called ‘Minneriya National Park‘. We really didn’t have plans to visit the national park and our aim is to reach another location. However,we saw peacocks and other birds while travelling through this route.

There are few spots that ‘Elephants’ cross the road. So,we who travel along the road have to give priority for those animals/elephants who are the owners of this wildlife conservation area. πŸ™‚

We started our road trip so early for the reason that we wanted to pass the wildlife conservation area during day time. However at the last kilometer of the road along Habarana,we saw an elephant crossing the road.Well,I really didn’t try to capture a photo of that elephant who crossed the road.Instead stayed silent till he crossed to the other side of the road. πŸ™‚

Just after this incident,we reached to the area where people live or where there is no much risk. Then we saw a restaurant, actually that is the first spot we found which we can refresh ourselves after driving few kilometers through the jungle area.

Rabbits in a Cage

My son who was sleeping woke up and he was really happy with what he saw.It is a rabbit cage!

Finally,I was really happy because there are lot of things to see for us when we go out for a road trip.In this trip,we found this place and it isΒ  good that kids and toddlers can enjoy their time during the tour.

Also check how our toddler spent his time in a shopping mall with a mirror.
