Preschool Field Trip to the Singapore Zoo

Kids easily learn through activities and observation. This is why field trips and outdoor explorations are important specially for early learners. At home we always encourage our kid to experience active learning as we know the benefits of such.My kid was lucky to join with his Preschool Field trip to the Singapore Zoo and it was a fantastic opportunity for him as an early learner!

Last week we had a fun day at the Singapore zoo. That was my kid’s first ever school field trip. His preschool teachers organized a field trip to the Singapore zoo. This is why we like the new preschool. Now our kid’s preschool days are full of different activities and experiences which also improves his social skills.

My kid has visited the Singapore zoo 3 times during the last year as family trips. However a preschool field trip is a great way to spend his day with teachers and friends. So we decided to join our kid to visit the zoo again. And of course, I visited the zoo again for the 5th or 6th time! 🙂

However, Singapore zoo is always an exciting place to visit. It looks natural and attractive. With preschool kids, I really had a great time.

For my kid, it was an exciting day. He packed his bag with field trip essentials including snacks, hat and raincoat before he went to the bed. On the day of the field trip, he woke up early and was really excited. The bus ride with his preschool friends was an unforgettable experience for him. 🙂

Other than watching the animals around the zoo, teachers planned to watch some animal shows during the field trip. It was exciting for the kids. But after the first animal show, my kid showed signs of tiredness. Light snacks were always helpful for me to keep him active. 🙂

Curious to see the exhibits!

Other than watching animals and their behavior, kids also learned to share and to spend the time together. At the end of the day, kids looked tired but still talkative and playful!

Do you like such field trips?

  1. I can see the kids are having fun! Field trip is one of the activities that I am excited about when my son starts schooling. He’s 3 yrs old now and we’re planning to enroll him for the next school year. Field trips aren’t just for students to learn but also for their parents to enjoy. I enjoyed field trips when I was young.

  2. Wow, this is truly something every parent should embrace. I also have had this experienced when I was still in pre-school. It is always the best to let the children engage with nature and animals, since this will help then understand the presence of nature in our life. I’m sure the kids were very elated while traipsing their feet and ambling around the Zoo. I haven’t been to Singapore and I’ll surely visit this place soon. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.

  3. I believe a zoo is one of the most ideal places for kids to learn about their environment and many other things. I could see friendship further develops there. Curiosity is answered as well as appreciation for God’s creation.

  4. A trip to the zoo is always my favorite. My little one loves animals and it is always fascinating to see these beautiful creations upclose! Kids will also learn a lot in a trip to the zoo or any animal sanctuary in the city. I bet your little one had a might fine time! 😀

  5. This is so much fun! My daughter always wanted to visit the zoo. Seeing big animals in real life is part of her dream! Bringing kids to the zoo i s one way to help the kids appreciate life and God.

  6. the children look super cute in their uniforms and backpacks 🙂 kudos to the school for choosing this place for children’s amusement plus learning! i wish zoos in manila would be as clean and well-maintained as the ones in sg 🙂

  7. Wow, I’m sure the kids had a great time visiting the zoo. I am really very much into this kind of activities, that children will really see by themselves actual animals and not just on books 🙂

  8. School trips are always the most interesting and exciting moments for the kids. They are not only socializing but also learning a great deal of things. This is the time when they are like little sponges, and they soak up everything they see, hear and touch. The accent is on their senses, so in order to teach a child something, you need to activate his senses. And what better opportunity for teaching is than organizing a short trip? I am sure these kids have learned a lot from that day and plus, they had a memorable time. 🙂

  9. I agree. School trips are so important for learning and to allow kids to form friendships with their classmates. It looks like they had a fun day! This zoo seems like a really good one!

  10. this is actually my most favorite part when i was in preschool… i love field trips as it gives you a chance to enjoy and explore the place while learning something from the trip at the same time! Your kid surely had a great blast from this wonderful trip in Singapore zoo

  11. This is one of the best activities for any school kid. I enjoyed mine and I love seeing my kids enjoy them. Wonderful zoo, I have been there. A good place to learn about animals.
