Preschool Field Trip to the Singapore Zoo

Kids easily learn through activities and observation. This is why field trips and outdoor explorations are important specially for early learners. At home we always encourage our kid to experience active learning as we know the benefits of such.My kid was lucky to join with his Preschool Field trip to the Singapore Zoo and it was a fantastic opportunity for him as an early learner!

My little explorer is learning to read the map!

Last week we had a fun day at the Singapore zoo. That was my kid’s first ever school field trip. His preschool teachers organized a field trip to the Singapore zoo. This is why we like the new preschool. Now our kid’s preschool days are full of different activities and experiences which also improves his social skills.

My kid has visited the Singapore zoo 3 times during the last year as family trips. However a preschool field trip is a great way to spend his day with teachers and friends. So we decided to join our kid to visit the zoo again. And of course, I visited the zoo again for the 5th or 6th time! 🙂

Little explorers are walking to see the animals in the Singapore zoo!

However, Singapore zoo is always an exciting place to visit. It looks natural and attractive. With preschool kids, I really had a great time.

For my kid, it was an exciting day. He packed his bag with field trip essentials including snacks, hat and raincoat before he went to the bed. On the day of the field trip, he woke up early and was really excited. The bus ride with his preschool friends was an unforgettable experience for him. 🙂

Other than watching the animals around the zoo, teachers planned to watch some animal shows during the field trip. It was exciting for the kids. But after the first animal show, my kid showed signs of tiredness. Light snacks were always helpful for me to keep him active. 🙂

These animal themed trams are fun to see!

A tram ride around the zoo was exciting. He could watch his most favourite animal, the Lion!He also loved to see elephants!

Other than watching animals and their behavior, kids also learned to share and to spend the time together. At the end of the day, kids looked tired but still talkative and playful!

Do you like such field trips?

My Little Giant – Singapore Indoor Playpark with Kids Entertainment Centre

Did you hear it right? There is a new indoor playground in Singapore! My Little Giant is the newly opened indoor playground for kids which has some unique features. It is not just another indoor playground in Singapore which has typical play equipment. Instead, My Little Giant includes a kids Entertainment area as well. This side of gaming area will give you a carnival feel while playing games or experiencing rides on different play equipment including a train ride.

Doesn’t this sound interesting? Sometimes, indoor playgrounds can be boring for parents. I’ve seen most parents spend their time on mobile phones while kids are playing. But, the gaming area of My Little Giant is really an exciting area for both adults and kids to have fun together! And it is located in the popular shopping mall, Big Box which is easy to reach!

Early this month we spent an afternoon at the Pororo Park and had a great fun. After that, My Little Giant is entirely different experience which includes carnival experience while spending time at the indoor playpark. We spent an afternoon there and had really exciting time in both gaming area and inside the playground.

Here are some of the moments from our experience.

Kids Entertainment Centre  (Gaming and Entertainment area of My Little Giant)

This area will sure give you the feeling of carnival. Among the train rides, carousel and other kiddy rides, who can forget the carnival experience! My kid really loved the train ride. Not only him, I enjoyed the train ride too.

Indoor play area of My Little Giant

Before you enter into the indoor playground area, you need to remove shoes. The facilities are there to keep the shoes.

At the entrance, the staff will do the usual procedure for any indoor playground such as measuring temperature and sanitizing the hands. They also gave us a tag to wear on hand which allow us re-entry within the day! Isn’t this a good idea?

Ball pit is really interesting and I really love the colour combination of balls. Blue and white balls give eye pleasing look and we had so much fun there.

There are activities for toddlers too

Last week we had so much fun at the Pororo Park Singapore. It was a great opportunity for my kid as he is also in love with the Pororo, the Little Penguin. Those who follow my blog stories know Sanu loves Peppa so much. But after our visit to Kids World Fair, he found a new cartoon character and that is the beginning of his love to Pororo!

Pororo Park- Singapore

Pororo Park- Singapore

Anyway Pororo the Little Penguin is an award winning Korean animation series. Pororo Park Singapore is a play and educational indoor playground which stretches over 11,000sqft area.If you look for fun things to do in Singapore or kids indoor playgrounds in Singapore, dont forget to visit this Pororo themed Park for kids! Here is why!

Why Pororo Park Singapore is special?

If you think Pororo Park is just another indoor playground with themed Pororo characters, no it is not! Instead of just another indoor playground, Pororo Park is a place for edutainment. It is designed to entertain and educate children while enhancing social skills allowing them to play in group play environment.

Here is a photo walk of our experience there. Sanu enjoyed his time at the Pororo Park and was busy with different activities. Really great experience just before his 3rd Birthday!

Meet & Greet with Pororo & Friends

Pororo Park- Singapore

It is so much fun to talk with Pororo & Friends. They are too cute!

Well, when we just entered into the Pororo Park, Sanu found this cute penguins and attracted them so much. He was a little butterfly, so I don’t have a good picture with him. Most are shaky or blurr pictures as he was too active!

Shark Ball Pool

Pororo Park- Singapore

We had so much fun at the Shark Ball Pool.More photos soon!

The next attraction we loved in Pororo Park is this Shark Ball Pool. Actually it is designed for throwing balls to the shark’s mouth. But, my kid including most others played with the balls forgetting the Shark. And me? Of course, I played with the balls too!

Pororo Express

Isn’t it so much fun if we get the chance to having a ride with most loving characters? Sanu got that chance of having a train ride with Pororo and friends!

Pororo Park- Singapore

A train ride with Pororo & Friends is the most exciting activity for me.This is my 2nd round! 🙂

Not only Sanu, any kid can enjoy fun rides on this motored Pororo & friends train. And there are endless photo opportunities too!

At first I thought Sanu will get scared to ride alone without me as this is his first time to such ride without me. But, for my surprise he was not! Even he had a second ride alone just before we left the park at the evening.

Below are photos from other fun areas.

Pororo’s House

Kids will amaze just by the view of the Pororo’s house. It is similar to the Pororo’s house of the cartoon series and a perfect idea for pretend playing. Kids can enjoy their time at the Pororo’s house as they love.

My kid was really surprised to similar arrangement inside the Pororo’s house and had fun time running here and there.

Pororo Park- Singapore

Wow!This Pororo House is same as the Pororo’s house in the Pororo & Friends cartoon!

Dinosaurs in Singapore – Fu Shan Garden

We found dinosaurs in Singapore! These days my son is really attached to Peppa Pig episodes and there is one episode about visit to a dinosaur park. (Grampy Rabbits Dinosaur Park). Other than that he himself introduces as ‘George’ who is younger brother of Peppa pig. Dinosaur is Gorge’s favourite toy. 🙂

Well, our home is with bit of Pappa pig madness these days. Although I control screen time and addicting to same thing, I also encourage him to learn new things with fun. One day when it was a holiday for my son’s Playgroup, he told me he wants to see a Dinosaur!

Dinosaurs in Singapore – Fu Shan Garden

I actually was planning to go out with him but I also didn’t have any special place to visit. With his request and when I searched for dinosaurs in Singapore, I found few places including museum, science center and exhibitions. But for a toddler, it seems these places are not much attractive. Then I found this dinosaur park which is located in Woodlands, Singapore.

It is Fu Shan Garden, located at street 81, Woodlands which is an old playground between HDB blocks. This playground looks dry but there are also huge trees around it making it a cool place.

This is a slide which features a Dinosaur #Fu Shan Garden

Although it is not suitable for playing with dinosaur slides in the playground, it is really a good place to show dinosaurs for kids.(Specially for young kids and toddlers)

This Singapore dinosaur playground is with slides which feature dinosaurs and Ouranosaurus. My little explorer was so happy because I took him to spend his day with dinosaurs.

The playground and complete surrounding of Fu Shan Garden is located in a small hilly area. So the landscape is according to the natural place by making different levels. There are some boulders which help to climb the hill to the top of the garden.

As this is not a much popular place, there were no other people. So, we both had our time among the dinosaurs and it was really fun.

Sandcastles at East Coast Park-Singapore

East Coast Park which is a popular park destination in Singapore is with lot of family friendly activities. This park stretches over a beautiful beach making it a great place for family fun. Recently We spent a whole day there and enjoyed lot of activities. Among the activities, spending time in the beach was really fun and enjoyable.

We also spent time with sand playing with our toddler. Although we didn’t join in building such huge sandcastles, this is another activity which anyone can enjoy at the Singapore East Coast Park. There is one dedicated area which you can rent moulds for sandcastle building. Many families and groups were working together as teams to create such beautiful sandcastles. We could see those and my son too loved those.

Singa the Courtesy Lion at Dhoby Ghaut

Singa the Courtesy Lion is a popular mascot used in Singapore kindness campaigns. Also called as Singa the Lion, the mascot is widely used in badges, stickers, banners and in many other forms in kindness movements.

Singa the Courtesy Lion at Dhoby Ghaut

Although he is a popular mascot in many events, Singa the lion resigned officially from his duties on 2013.But still I can see the Singa Lion in publications and in different places. We received a Singa Lion toy in last year SG50 celebrations too.

Our son loves his Singa Lion which he received from the last year SG50 celebrations. He has much attachment for lion toys and he take his toy lions wherever he go. Sometimes we keep our eye on the toy, because if he forgets it, we know we have to run here and there to locate the lion as lion is his best friend.

Last week we were lucky to locate Singa Lion in Dhoby Ghaut as a beautiful statue. My son was so happy and he could spend few hours there while talking and touching the lion.

A kind heart is a fountain of gladness –This quote teaches us a valuable lesson for the life. Thanks Singa Lion!

While locating the Singa lion at Dhoby Ghaut, you can also spend time in the beautiful area around while sitting on a swing.

He was so happy to meet the friends in Sesame Street and talk and sit with them. These kiddie rides with Sesame Street characters are bright coloured, beautiful and cheerful!A really fun for kids!
